Shaykhul Islaam ibn Taymiyyah (:rahim:) said:

“There is no blameworthiness upon the one who manifests the way of the Salaf (the pious predecessors), or affiliates himself or ascribes himself to it, rather it is unanimously agreed that it is obligatory to accept that from him, because the way of the pious predecessors can be none other than the truth.”
