Question: Is recitation of (Soorah) al-Faatihah between the two khutbas of Jum’uah a sunnah or a bid’ah?

Answer: All praise is due to Allaah. There is nothing established for its recitation between the two khutbas of Jum’uah. Not from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), nor from his Companions (رضى الله عنهما) from what we know. So recitation of it between them (the two khutbas of Jum’uah) is a bid’ah (an innovation).

And with Allaah is true success. And may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
